What Puts Your Floor at the Low or High End?
- New construction or remodel. A clean new slab is the least expensive floor we stain. In a remodel, old flooring has to come up and the glue has to be cleaned off by hand.
- What's coming up. Carpet and laminate are included in our remodel pricing. Tile and hardwood take more labor and cost more.
- Condition of the slab. Paint, old sealer, patches, and heavy stains add prep time. If the slab is in rough shape, an Overlay may be the better choice.
- Size and layout. Large open areas cost less per square foot than one small room or a lot of closets and hallways.
- Stain and sealer. Acid stain or dye, one color or layered colors, and a sealer chosen.
Is Stained Concrete Cheaper Than Tile, Hardwood, or Luxury Vinyl Plank?
Usually, yes. With tile, hardwood, or LVP, you pay for the flooring material, the installation, and eventually a replacement. A stained concrete floor uses the slab that's already there, so you pay for prep, color, and sealer, not new material.

Stained Concrete Cost FAQs
Is there a minimum charge for stained concrete?
Yes. Stained concrete projects start at $1,800. A single small room or a short hallway will usually land at the minimum.
Does the price include removing my old flooring?
Yes. Our remodel price is all-in, so removing your carpet, laminate, tile, or hardwood is included, along with the glue and thinset cleanup, stain, and sealer. Carpet and laminate usually land at the low end of the range. Tile and hardwood land higher because they take more labor to remove and clean up.
Why does a remodel cost more than new construction?
In a remodel, we remove the old flooring and clean off glue, thinset, and paint before any color goes down. That cleanup is slow hand work. Old tile can also leave faint grout lines or a ghost image in the slab.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free, and you can start with a text and a few photos before anyone comes out.
